The SSPM's College of Engineering is the First Engineering degree college in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra started in the year 1999 by Sindhudurg Shikshan Prasarak Mandal (SSPM), Kankavali. Maharashtra assembly. The Mandal also runs "Dairy Development college" in Kankavali affiliated to Konkan Krishi Vidyapith , Dapoli and in the field of social welfare , it has setup a "Vridhashram" at Bhiravande near Kankavali . SSPM's college is entering in its twelth year of degree course in the academic year The Institute started with undergraduate courses in three Engineering disciplines with a total intake of 180 and a total staff strength of 16. Now, it offers under graduate courses in four disciplines,  The institute has seen a phenomenal growth in students strength from meagre 180 in 1500 to 2000.The total staff strength has grown manifold from 16 in 1999 to 100 plus today.

To bring Konkan region on the global platform by creating technocrafts scientist from the people of konkan region to project the konkan as heaven on the Earth by these technocrafts

The mission of institute is to impart quality technical education to deserving students from fundamentals of engineering to high technology and to prepare them for highprofile career opportunities arising in the 21st century and also to train the students to become Quality Engineers with High Standards of Professionalism and Ethics who have Positive Attitude and Perfect Blend of Technical and Managerial skills.
